TAUNGGYI-----Even though the number of COVID-19 cases have risen again in southern Shan State, returnees from abroad are still entering into the state.

Thai returnees arrived in Taunggyi Business Center (TBC) Highway Bus Terminal in the evening of November 18th. 

They were transported back to their native places via TBC under the leadership of Taunggyi Township COVID-19 Preventing, Controlling and Treatment Committee.

Likewise, a total of 20 returnees from Thailand arrived in Taunggyi via Myawaddy Township, Kayin State, on the same day. The authorities planned to keep the returnees at the Mogyok Meditation Center in Taunggyi and they must be quarantined for 14 days. 

Their swabs will be tested, says Administrator Aung Naing from Thittaw Ward in Taunggyi . 

Those 20 returnees are dwellers from relevant Townships in southern Shan State.

In Mogyok Meditation Center, there are about 60 returnees from abroad because they had received quarantine for 14 days. The township authorities took responsibility for their meals. 

The overseas returnees must receive quarantine for 14 days at Taunggyi University, University of Computer Science and Mogyok Meditation Center in Taunggyi. So, there are over 500 returnees in Taunggyi.

There are totaling 50 positive patients in southern Shan State, according to the report of Shan State Treatment and Public Health Department on November 17th.
