YANGON----Insein Township Police Station saw 13 of its forces being infected with COVID-19, a police officer from Yangon Region Police Force said yesterday. 

The infected policemen are now receiving medical treatments at some COVID-19 treatment centers so also their family members have been quarantined.

“Firstly, a policeman showed a little symptom of COVID-19. Later, he tested positive for COVID-19. Moreover, another 12 policemen who had close contact with a confirmed policeman tested positive for COVID-19. Now, those infected policemen are now receiving medical treatments at the relevant quarantine centers including Phaunggyi,” said an unidentified police officer from Yangon Region Police Force.

There have been policemen including a high ranking officer who tested positive for COVID-19 in Yangon Region.

The high ranking officer from Yangon Region Police Force is now recovered and he will be assigning his duty near soon.

However, the police officer from Hmawby Township Police Station who had hypertension already died on September 29th.
