Hpakant sees 23 more COVID-19 patients

As per information on the Facebook account of the Department of Kachin State Public Health at 10am on 30 Sept. there has been an addition of 23 COVID-19 confirmed patients in Hpakant township, Kachin State.

     

Regarding this, Dr Min Lwin from Hpakant said that they have been hearing this news from here and there. People have been asking about it. He said that the health ministry has not notified him. We heard that Kachin State health information centre has just sent us intimation, but no details as regards how many from which places is not known.

     

According to information given by Kachin State Department of Public Health there had been an addition of 26 new confirmed patients: 23 from Hpakant township, 2 from Moehngyin township, and 1 from Myitkyina. Of the 23 patients from Hpakant township, 4 patients are contact persons of Case 1712. The rest of the patients are from the same village.

     

"At the moment there are about 250 persons in Facility Quarantine in Hpakant township. Till 29 Sept. swabs have been collected from 895 persons in the entire township. Of the swabs sent since 26 Sept. the results of 54 are not yet known," said Dr Min Lwin.

There are altogether 35 COVID-19 infected patients in Hpakant township  and 9 have recovered and have been discharged as learnt from the township health department.
