171 more Covid-19 cases, five more deaths reported

A total of 171 more Covid-19 cases have been found in the second batch samples tested for September 24 and five more patients died, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am today.

The ministry already reported 512 confirmed cases in the first batch for September 24 at 8 pm news hour, bringing the total number of cases for that day to 688.

For the whole day, 4,725 Covid-19 samples were tested—2,227 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon), 498 by the Department of Medical Research, 839 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay), 553 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine), 207 by the Public Health Laboratory (Taunggyi), 25 by Nay Pyi Taw People’s Hospital (1000-bed) and the remaining samples by respective township people’s hospital across the country.

Myanmar has so far seen 8,515 Covid-19 cases and 155 deaths.
