The military is ready to receive over 5,000 people to be watched for Covid-19 at its quarantine centers and there are over 500 now, said Brigadier General Zaw Min Tun from Tatmadaw (Military) True News Information Team.
The military has opened quarantine centers in Hline Township of Yangon Region, Nay Pyi Taw and Shwenyaung Township of Shan State. So far, there have been just over 500 people at those centers.
Till the afternoon of September 16, there were 121 people at the quarantine center in Hline Township, 330 at the quarantine center in Nay Pyi Taw and 79 at the quarantine center in Shwenyaung.
“We have prepared to accept more than 5,000 people. In Hline, we accepted all those the Yangon Region government sent. We did so in Nay Pyi Taw and Shwenyaung as well. We have 121 in Hline, 330 in Nay Pyi Taw and 79 in Shwenyaung,” said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
He added that the military covered all expenses for treatment, accommodation, food and transport at its quarantine centers.
Myanmar has so far seen 3,894 Covid-19 cases and 46 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
