Of the 24 positive cases of COVID-19 found in Daikoo township, Bago Region, 24 are those who returned from Thailand and one coming back from Rakhine State.
Almost everyday there are people returning to Daikoo township, Bago Region, and are being kept in houses, monasteries, government offices and buildings used as camps. On 1st Sept. Swabs of 54 persons who returned to Daikoo township were sent to Yangon for lab test, and according to information given on 3 Sept. 8am 24 have been confirmed to be affected by COVID-19 virus.
Since 18 and 20 Aug. those returning from abroad and kept in Kanoo school quarantine are: case No.1035, 45 year old male from Thongwa village, case No. 1036,37 year old male from Thongwa village, cade No. 1037, 51 year old female from Thongwa, case No. 1038, 40 year old female from Thongwa village, case No. 1039, 25 year old male from Kyarinn village, case No. 1040, 25 year old male from Hninn Wi village, case No. 1041, 23 year old female from Hninn Wi village, case No. 1042, 34 year ild female from Hpayauny wei village, case No. 1043, 20 year old female from Myot Thit, case No. 1044, 47 year old male from 3/5 lane, case No. 1045, 32 year old male from Pauktabin village, and case No. 1046, 30 year old female from 3/1 lane.
Case No.1047, a 27 year old male, living in Phayargyi Kwin, returned from Sittwe, and since,31Aug. was in Daikoo Sports and Physical Training quarantine centre. Case No.1048, 33 year oldmale and case No.1049, 23 year old female, both from Paungtabin village are quarantined in empty houses. Case No.1050, 27 year old female and case No.1051, 34 year old male, both from Phanng taw thi village are quarantined in Phanngtawthi village quarantine site. Case No.1052, 31 year old male from Pathwe village is quarantined in Oathwe village quarantine centre. Case No 1053, 22 year old male, of Pu kaing village, is quarantined in Pukaing village quarantine site. Case No.1054, 70 year old male and Case No.1055, 65 year old female from Bawni village, Daikoo township, returned from Taungghok town, Rakhine State, and are keot in quarantine in Bawni village quarantine centre. Case No.1056,42 year old male from Metghinlun village is in the same village quarantine centre. Case No.1057, 30 year old male from Sarparchan village is in quarantine in Kyuntaw Camp.
These are all returnees to the township. They had been in camps.Efforts are being made to verify any information regarding them. Till date there have been 24 returnees, 21 from Thailand and 3 from Rakhibe State. Camps are set up in various places. Arrangements are being made to send them to Kali hospital in Bago, said leader of Daikoo township COVID-19 Prevention team.
Cases 1047, 1054, and 1055 are those who returned from Rakhine State, and tve remaining 21 are those returning from Thailand, and arrangements are being made for them to take treatment in Kali hospitalin Bago as per directives given by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Dr Yan Naing Maung, Bago Region Health Officer said that they are doing the needful to send these 24 persons to Bago hospital from Daikoo. Through the media he asks all people to wear masks when going out and to wash hands, and not to go out unnecessarily. He also asks the public to keep social distancing of 6 feet. Every effort is being made for the treatment on these people.
Till date there have been 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bago Region, and those positive cases that took treatment in Kali hospital have all been discharged.
