Covid-19 cases up to 316 after 3 returnees from UAE test positive

Three more people returning from the UAE have tested positive for Covid-19 bringing the total number of cases to 316 in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on July 6.

A total of 1,326 samples were tested in the first batch for July 6 and three more cases were confirmed. They are a 37-year-old man from Tamway Township, a 39-year-old man from South Dagon Township and a 29-year-old man from Sangyoung Township in Yangon Region.

After returning from the UAE, the three were put at a quarantine center in Kamayut Township. As they tested positive for the coronavirus, they will be sent to South Oakkalapa Specialist Hospital for treatment.

In the second batch for July 6, 328 samples were tested and no new cases were reported.

Myanmar has so far seen 316 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 245 recoveries.
