YANGON-Health checkups will be conducted continuously on 33 Townships situated in the municipal areas in Yangon Region, says Naing Ngan Lin, Social Affairs Minister from Yangon Region Government Committee.
The Ministry of Health and Sports conducted door-to-door health checks on totaling 2,628 peoples in Minglataung Nyunt and Kyaukdata Townships in Yangon Region, on May 22nd.
The Social Affairs Minister said that health checks will be conducted on 33 Townships in Yangon’s municipal areas.
The Medical Team will be launching its door-to-door health check program in 33 Townships in Yangon Region but they can’t do health checks again.
If those who want to do medical checks again, they can go to the Township dispensary.
The door-to-door health checks were jointly conducted by Yangon Region Government Committee,
More than 100 members including MPs, administrative bodies, volunteers, health staff were led by the Yangon Region Government Committee conducted the health checks.
Yangon Region had conducted firstly door-to-door health checks in Insein Township which reported the COVID-19 cases mostly.
Later, the health checks had been conducted continuously in Hlaingthayar, Tamwe, and Mayangon Townships.
Moe Moe Su Kyi, Minister of Immigration and Human Resources from Yangon Region Government Committee, also said that health records were collected in Yangon Region and regular health checks were also conducted in two townships.
Yangon Region has the largest number of COVID-19 patients across the country and Insein Township reported COVID-19 cases mostly.
There have been over 40 COVID-19 cases in Insein Township and over 15 COVID-19 patients in Mayangon Township and 13 patients in South Oakkalapa Township.
The World Health Organization announced on March 11th COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic.
Myanmar found its very first COVID-19 case on March 23rd.
The Ministry of Health and Sports had said that at least 83 COVID-19 patients in the country had no symptoms of the disease but were tested because they had been exposed to confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients.
