There had been nearly 500 persons under investigation (PUI) of Covid-19 at military transit centres in Yangon Region and Nay Pyi Taw till April 28, the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services reported.
Until the afternoon of April 28, Nay Pyi Taw transit centre had 396 PUIs and Yangon Region transit centre 96 PUIs. All of them are in good health, according to the press release issued by the office.
For the prevention and control of the Covid-19 spread, those military transit centres are accepting PUIs who will be provided with meals and healthcare by respective military commands, medical corps of local battalions and officials concerned.
On April 28 alone, Nay Pyi Taw transit centre accepted seven men and seven women returning from China while the transit centre in Hline Township, Yangon Region accepted eight men and two women returning from China as well as two men and one woman coming from Myeik and Lashio, the press release said.
Sixty six from Nay Pyi Taw transit centre and two from Yangon transit centre completed 21 days of quarantine on April 28. They were provided with food and transported to their respective regions in the cars arranged by the military.
