One more case confirmed, bringing total to 28

Yangon—A 63-year-old man who had a close contact with the 8th confirmed patient, tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 28, according to the statement by the Ministry of Health and Sports on 10 April.

The 28th patient living in Bahan Township is a family member of the 8th patient. Due to the close contact with the confirmed patient, he has been put in home quarantine since 28 March.  

On 7 April, he started suffering from sore throat and coughing. The man’s simples was taken for testing on 9 April. According to the lab result, he is found to be infected with COVID-19.

He has hypertension and diabetes. He will be sent to the intensive care unit of Waibargi Specialist Hospital.

From 6 pm on 9 April to 6 pm on 10 April, there were 51 new Persons Under Investigation (PUI).

A total of 22 confirmed patients being treated at the respective hospitals are in stable condition. One patient is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Waibargi Specialist Hospital.
