Myanmar Consulate-General in Hong Kong issued a statement on February 6 warning Myanmar citizens living in Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions against novel coronavirus infection
The Consulate-General advised them to stay home and not to go outside, especially to crowded places, on public holidays and to wear masks if their travel is deemed essential.
The Myanmar citizens are also advised to keep personal hygiene, keep their surroundings clean and wash their hands at least 20 times a day.
According to official figures available till February 6, the coronavirus death toll reached 565 and 1,322 patients recovered from the illness.
The coronavirus that originated from China is spreading across the globe, but its close neighbouring Myanmar has not seen any case.
