The EU will provide a fund of 112 million euro for the implementation of nutrition programs included in the Agricultural Development Strategy (ADS) and Multi-Sectoral National Action Plan for Nutrition (MS-NPAN) in Myanmar, said Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Kyaw Hla.

The ministry will implement the five-year rural nutritional sector reform from 2020-2021 to 2023-2024. 

The national-level discussion on the tasks for Nutrition Sector Reform Contract (NSRC), indexes and plans, was held at the Ministry of  Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in the second week of January in Nay Pyi Taw.

The deputy minister called on the officials to accurately calculate the budget for the success of project. In order to sign the financial agreement amended in accord with the departmental recommendations, the ministry will carry out step-by-step work according to the financial procedures. 

Talks on nutritional sector reform were held 17 times in Nay Pyi Taw. The NSRC's tasks, indexes and plans were negotiated and approved. 

The ministry will implement the five-year project in 10 townships in Ayeyawady Region and Shan State.
