Police detains a couple for stealing money from ATM

Mandalay – Police detained a deputy manager from a branch of KBZ bank and her spouse for stealing money from an ATM on December 29, announced Mandalay Region police force.

The customers thought the ATM is out of order and they informed the bank. When the bank checked the ATM, they saw money worth about Ks34 million inside the machine is stolen. They informed about it to police.

When the police checked the CCTV footages, they saw that the culprit came with a van to unlock the machine using a key attached with a red color keychain and code number to steal all money inside the machine. The police detained Htet Mon Kyaw Shwe, deputy manager of the bank, who owned the key, and she confessed that she and her husband are accomplices, said Police Major Win Naing, head of Maha Aung Myay police station.

Police lodged a complaint against the culprits, Htet Mon Kyaw Shwe and Aung Khaing Soe Myint, under Section 454 of the Penal Code.
