Fire burnt down a factory producing life jackets for children in Shwe Lin Ban industrial zone in Hlaing Thayar Township on November 27, according to Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The fire started from a warehouse in the factory.

“The factory is producing life jackets and exporting. It is a level-3 fire break out,” said Thein Tun Oo, director of Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The firefighters finally controlled the fire around 11 pm but the fire was still burning inside the factory.

Four firefighters are sent to the hospital as they are fainted due to the smoke and soldiers, social welfare associations and red-cross members came to help.

“The building is collapsed partially and it is very dangerous for the firefighters. Some firefighters are sent to the hospital,” said the director.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
