Ministry to take interim census in November

Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population will take the nationwide interim census in over 4,000 sample plots in four batches, in coming November.

The ministry will no longer use the questionnaire method. Now the ministry will use Computer-assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) system using mobile tablets. 

The first batches covers Kachin, Chin and Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, the second batch, Kayin, Kyah, Mon, Taninthayi and Ayeyawady, the third batch, Bago, Sagaing and Magway, and the fourth batch, Rakhine, Shan, Yangon and Mandalay, according to the ministry. 

At the ILO centenary ceremony on October 21, Union Minister for Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population Thein Swe said: “We conduct instructor courses for interim census-taking this month. The project will start in November.” 

Now the ministry is conducting the training course batch-1 in Nay Pyi Taw.
