MONYWA-Torrential rain occurred in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, on October 15th, destroying a road and a bridge.

According to MP Htay Ngwe from Myaung Township, he says that transportation access have been cut.

The damaged road and bridge is the link to Mandalay from Myaung Township as well as to Monywa Township in Sagaing.

“Heavy rain poured down on October 15th. No cars could move past the bridge. A detour road is being constructed. The road and bridge is in Myinmu Township,” said MP Htay Ngwe.

Sagaing Region Chief Minister Dr Myint Naing inspected the site yesterday morning and urged the authorities to rebuild the road and bridge within three months with the assistance of natural disaster fund.

In Myinmu Township, there was a bridge which partially collapsed due to the torrential rain about 25 years ago. But, it isn’t rebuilt now, say MP Htay Ngwe.
