A policeman killed in a robbery at Yangon railway station

Three people knifed and killed a policeman from Myanmar railways police force at Yangon central railway station on September 23, according to Yangon Region police force.

“They killed him when he tried to arrest them. We lodged a complaint against them at Dagon Township police station. The police caught one of them and the remaining two are at large,” said a police officer from Yangon Region police force.

Police records said three people robbed a handset from two youths near Yangon central railway station and the two youths reported it to the police station at the railway station. Two policemen found them on the train tracks under Pansodan flyover and they caught Mae Lone. The other twos are run away.

Two policemen run after them and encountered them near a public toilet. Aung Thu knife Police Lance Corporal Myo Myint Lwin, it said.

He had injuries in his left chest and the two thugs run away from the scene. The injured policeman is sent to the hospital and he died at the hospital, it said.

 The police is searching for them.
