A young man was reportedly attacked by a group of muggers after being targeted on a YBS (Yangon Bus Service) bus, according to witnesses.
The incident occurred around 8:30 AM on May 19 at the corner of Pansodan Road and Strand Road in Yangon Region. The youth was found unconscious and injured at the scene, prompting volunteers from the Ko Puttu and Borders Charity Group to respond and assist.
“People nearby said he was pushed off the YBS bus and then surrounded and beaten by a gang of muggers. When we arrived, the young man appeared to be about 19 years old and was unconscious. Upon checking for injuries, we found a severe laceration on his right jaw. We provided emergency first aid and worked to revive him,” said Ko Puttu.
The injured young man was transported to Yangon General Hospital, where it was confirmed that he had regained consciousness and was in stable condition.
