The unpaid fuel is bought by the company, assigned by Tint Tint Myanmar Company to run the Yangon Water Bus, and if the creditors submitted vouchers for unpaid fuel bill, they will pay off the fuel bill, said Tint Tint Lwin, Chairperson of the Tint Tint Myanmar Company.

Petro & Trans Group of Company said Tint Tint Myanmar Company gave a promise to pay unpaid fuel bill worth over Ks77.2 billion by August 8, 2019, they didn’t make the payment. The Petro & Trans Group of Company announced on February 15 in state owned newspaper that it set a deadline of February 28 for the payment, and warned that legal action would be taken against if the bill went unpaid.

Tint Tint Lwin said they held a press conference to keep the dignity of their company, Yangon Water Bus and the motivation of their staff. Yangon Water Bus was started with foreign experts in the beginning. Later, they assigned a company to manage the Yangon Water Bus . The unpaid fuel was bought by the company assigned to manage the Yangon Water Bus. She didn’t want to say the name of the company in line with ethics. She didn’t know about the Petro & Trans Group of Company before the problem occurred.

She continued, “The Company they assigned to manage Yangon Water Bus is led by veterans and they bought fuel from other veterans they knew. They only submitted a report about the running of Yangon Waterbus and they managed all including financial matters. They took all the income and bought all necessary items.”

The creditors need to send a notice to pay off the unpaid fuel bill and she instructed her company to pay off the unpaid bill if the creditors came to submit vouchers for unpaid fuel bill, she added.

“They may have original vouchers for unpaid fuel bills and I don’t know why they didn’t bring them. They may lose them or don’t have them. We don’t want to say they don’t have the vouchers. They set the deadline to pay off the unpaid fuel bill on February 28 but they need to do it in procedures,” she said.

The company will consult with its lawyers to be ready to respond to defend its dignity, she said.

Yangon Water Bus was run from October 7, 2017 from Botahtaung port to Pansodan (Nanthida), Lathar (Lanthit bridge), Kyimyindaing, Bayintnaung (Hlaing) and Insein jetties and later it was expanded its services to Twante and Kyauktan for pilgrim trip.
