Host Yangon United FC beat Hougang United FC from Singapore 1-0 in Group F of AFC Cup held on March 10 and another Myanmar club, Shan United FC, lost 2-1 to Tampines Rover from Singapore in away match.

Yangon United had many goal scoring opportunities but their finishing is poor. The winning goal is scored by a substitute striker Than Paing in 81st minutes. The win made their dream alive to reach the semi-final of ASEAN zone. The host used all four foreign players to beat the away team. Yangon United applied the pressure on the away team in the first half and the away team made some goal threatening in second half. Yangon United created more chances after they made substitution. Yangon United moved to second places behind Ho Chi Minh City FC from Vietnam on goal differences.

Shan United FC had little chance to reach to the semi-final of ASEA zone as they lost all three matches in first lag of group matches. They currently sat bottom in Group H.
