Myanmar Port Authority (MPA) and its international jetties are providing services regularly during the public holidays to ensure constant commodity flow.

MPA issued a statement that international port operations remain at all jetties in Yangon city for continued commodity flow during the public holidays.

During the period from 17 to 25 July announced as public holidays to curb the Covid-19 spread, international port operations remain at all jetties in Yangon city for continued commodity flow, Moreover, international cargo vessel arrivals, container handling and withdrawal of goods are also continuing on specific days. Locations for international cargo vessels, when they arrive, will be arranged every two days as of 18 July.

The port agency will issue delivery orders (DOs) on 20 and 22 July and goods can be taken out by contacting the respective shipping lines.

To be able to boost import, 37 more container ships from respective shipping lines will run in July. Moreover, plans have made to extend schedules from various shipping lines.

Yangon ports have seen arrivals of more international container and general cargo ships since May. So far, over 11,000 containers and 115,000 metric tons of general cargos have been handled.
