YACL general manager shot dead in Yangon

The general manager of Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited (YACL) at Yangon International Airport was shot and killed near his house within Zaykabar Compound at about 6pm on June 19, according to local sources. 

U Ye Khaing, aged 46,  working as general manager of YACL, was shot by two unknown men near his home located at Khayebin Avenue within Zaykabar Compound in Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region.

He was shot near the gate of his home upon arriving in a Toyata Rush car. He died on the way to the Defence Services Hospital. Nine 9 mm bullet shells were found at the scene.

NOM news agency posted news in its telegram account saying that YACL general manager U Ye Khaing was shot nine times by two PDF (People’s Defence Force) members on a motorbike in front of his home when arriving back home.

News about U Ye Khaing being a retired army captain have spread on social media. 

YACL is a company providing management services for Yangon Airport.
