A clerk from Inyagyi Village General Administration Department in Htantabin Township, Bago Region, was stabbed to death, according to Myanmar Police Force.
U Thet Lwin, aged 56, was sleeping at Naga Yon Monastery in front of his home in Inyagyi Village when about 10 local people’s defence force (PDF) members at about 5.30 am on January 8. He was then taken away and stabbed to death near the village road connecting Inyagyi and Kyidawkyay villages.
At 7.40 am on January 7 also, U Min Aung, 45, living Aug Zeya Ward, Tawkywe Inn, Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region, was shot in the head by two PDF members (still in verification process) arriving on a motorbike when he was at his betel quid shop. He died at the scene.
In another case that happened at 4 pm on January 8, U Po Aung, 66, was wounded in a homemade mine blast when he we was on the way to the poultry farm about 20 feet south from his home in Kyaukkyi Township, local sources said.
