State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said that vaccinations will be given to places of high contagion rate, and to persons to whom priority ought to be given in order.
When addressing the public on 28th Jan. regarding the latest developments of COVID-19, the State Counsellor said as above.
She said that priority will be given to places with a thick population and places with a lot of Stay at Home cases and places of high contagion in order. Those for whom priority should be given vaccines will be given in order.
She further said that the price of the vaccine is dear and the expenses are high. She warned those who have taken the first dosage of the vaccine to be wary not to get infected.
"It would be very pitiful a lot if one gets infected after the first jab. The first dose would go for waste. In order to get these vaccines the State had incurred a lot of expenses. It is difficult to come by these vaccines, and so these vaccines are expensive. As they are expensive we don't wish even for a single dose to be wasted", said the State Counsellor.
The rough amount funded for the procurement of the vaccines is over a thousand billion kyats on loan, over a thousand billion kyats from movable funds, fifty billion kyats from natural disaster funds. Over 2600 billion kyats have already been spent, said the State Counsellor. Should there be a need, more will be spent. We will continue to work for the state economy to function, she said.
Daw,Aung San Suu Kyi further said that they would spend as required. As required they would also continue to work for the economy to function normally once again.
At the moment the control of COVID-19 disease is gradually getting better. It is necessary to maintain that momentum. Reduction in the contagion of the disease in Yangon Region is very encouraging, she said.
The population is thick and chances of contagion are high in Yangon Region . Now that the contagion rate has dropped in Yangon it is very encouraging, said the State Counsellor.
According to the information given in the evening of 28th Jan. there have been 139152 infected patients with 3103 fatalities.
