Up to 123 people quarantine at army transit center in Hlaing till Apr 2

The army is preparing to accommodate people under COVID-19 quarantine at the transit center in Hlaing Township and up to 123 people are kept in quarantine at the center till April 2, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

Of them, there are 17 people who have contact with COVID-19 case 16 patient and three women returned from Myawady, said the Brig-Gen.

“Officials and medical services personnel from Yangon Region Command are helping their accommodation and healthcare and all people under the quarantine at the center are in good health,” he said.

The case 16 patient is a 63-year old woman lived in Yaykyi Township, Ayeyawady Region. She welcomed her son, who returned from Dubai via air, at Yangon International Airport on March 15 and stayed temporarily at North Oakkalapa Township.

She suffered tiredness for about two weeks and had a fever on March 30. She admitted to North Oakkalapa hospital and her samples were sent to the NHL to test. The lab result showed she was infected with COVID-19 virus, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports on April 1.

The transit center in Yangon is preparing to accommodate up to 2,000 people under COVID-19 quarantine, announced Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.

Disinfectants are sprayed at the entry signboard, place where people under COVID-19 quarantine are listed, place where food is distributed, kitchen, sleeping quarters, bathrooms and toilets at the transit center in Nay Pyi Taw for people under COVID-19 quarantine since April 1, he said.
