U Chit Khine has been detained, according to some news sources

U Chit Khine, Myanmar’s leading businessman, has been detained, according to some reports.

According to some news sources, U Chit Khine was detained on the evening of April 25.

SAC Spokesman Maj-General Zaw Min Tun is being contacted regarding an update on the situation.

Some reports have claimed that U Chit Khine is being questioned by the Corruption Commission. There are other reports that claim that he is being questioned in relation to fuel issues. Both claims have yet to be confirmed.

U Chit Khine, chairman of the Eden Group, is a major businessman in the oil and gas industry, banking, construction, agriculture, as well as other industries.

Earlier this year, prominent businessman U Khin Shwe and his son Zay Thiha were also detained.
