Thailand authorities announced that two Myanmar citizens had involved in the robbery of gold shop situated in Muang district of Tak Province, Thailand, on December 8th.

In the afternoon of December 8th, four armed men wearing masks and caps arrived at the gold shop by two motorbikes aiming to rob the gold shop. Later, they fired shots at the glass door. When the robbers opened the glass box to get the gold, the gold shop owner fired shots in self-defence. So, four robbers run away.

Due to self-defence of gold shop owner, one was shot and died on the spot. Although Thai authorities arrested the one, the other two men already fled to border area by motorbike.

The Nation newspaper reported on December 10th that two men who fled to Thai-Myanmar border area were Myanmar citizens. So, Thai authorities offered ethnic armed groups to arrest them.

“Thai newspapers reported that two Myanmar nationals who involved in the gold shop robbery occurred in Tak district fled to Myanmar and they are still alert. In Thailand, everybody can hold licensed gun. That’s why the gold shop owner who has licensed gun got the medals in the shooting competition.
