Two more new COVID-19 confirmed cases have been found in Pyay, Bago Region, and of the six confirmed patients taking treatment in Pyay General hospital one has recovered and has been discharged.
The newly discovered two cases are a couple living on Zagartaung Oakkyar road, Ywarbei ward. As they were ill, one was examined on 14 Sept. and the other on 15 September. They were admitted in Pyay General hospital, and were declared confirmed on 16 September.
The township medical director, Dr Kay Khine Win, said that the man wouldn't say anything when asked whether he returned from Myawady. He said he had been to Hnawbi recently. People from the locality said he had been to Myawady. He didn't say anything about it. He did not have a high temperature. He was ill for three days at home. The hospital knowd in detail. We too knew this from the hospital. People that have had contact with him are his family, and three others in very close contact with him. They have been placed in quarantine. The information we got from them is not complete, she thinks. The information we have is not from them but from their neighbors. The two of them won't say anything. It has been quite some time since he went on a journey. Even this is not reliable.
The said couple and their family members consist of three adults and three children. These and three other primary contacts have been placed in Family Quarantine and their swabs tests have been sent to Yangon NHL and Pyay Genetal hospital. The authorities concerned are asking the people that have had contact with the two confirmed patients which places they had been to, but they are keeping quiet. The teachers and ward elders from the respective wards are asked to give any information regarding this matter, as requested by the Township Health department.
During the second wave of COVID-19, the number of confirmed patients taking treatment till 16 Sept. in Pyay General hospital are, one from Pantaung township under observation, one from Aung Lan township, one male teacher and a female teacher from training plus the present two new patients. The confirmed patient from Pantaung township has recovered and has been discharged from hospital.
