Two men including ex-MP from USDP shot dead in Myaung

Former parliamentary representative Win Naing from the military-backed Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and another man were shot and stabbed to death in Myaung Township, Sagaing District, Sagaing Region, on July 14, according to local sources.

The two were killed beside Myaung road when they went from their home in Myaung to their native village of Pannyo. 

The man who was killed is U Win Naing, a former parliamentarian from the USDP. A man accompanying him was also killed. U Win Naing lived close to the south of Myaung Police Station. He was murdered by Myaung road while he was going to his native village named Pannyo. The incident happened after 11 am today (July 14). They were shot three times and stabbed as well,” said a Myaung resident. 

Win Naing representing the USDP won a parliamentary seat in the regional constituency No (2) in the 2010 election. But, he lost in the 2020 election.

Earlier this month also, the Hswelweoh Village administrator in Myaung Township and another man were killed beside Myaung road. In connection with the case, the army reportedly arrested and took away four villagers on July 14 for questioning.
