Heavy weapon explosion occurred twice in Kalonar Village, Kyaikmaraw Township in the evening of September 27 injuring three locals including a child according to local sources.

Around 9:40 pm on that day, two heavy weapon explosions occurred in the village and another one exploded at a field near the village according to a local of Kalonar Village.

Two houses were destroyed and a vehicle was damaged. Three people including a child were injured and they were sent to Kyaikmaraw hospital overnight. The two women were slightly injured, he added.

Maung Min Ko, 9-year old child was seriously injured at his face and left hand as the explosion occurred in front of his house according to locals.

“The child is living with his grandmother. His parents are working in Thailand,” the local added.

The seriously injured child was admitted to Mawlamyine hospital via Kyaikmaraw hospital. No one knows who or which organizations are responsible for or carried out the attack.
