Two bombs blast at Moemauk high school wounding a teacher and 2 men

Two bombs blasted at Moemauk Basic Education High School in Bamaw District at 9:00 am on June 22 leaving a teacher and 2 men (a father and a son) who are security guards of the school wounded.

A teacher is less serious but the injuries of two men are serious and admitted to Bamaw hospital. It was assumed the bombs were controlled by remote.

“The table was placed in front of Pyinyar Yadanar hall for signing attendance. The bombs were placed under the table. The teacher was injured at her foot but she’s gone to her home as the injury was not severe. The guards were sent to Bamaw hospital. The father was hit at legs and knee,” said a man who helped the injured men.

Similarly, the brother of in-charge of auditors of Moemauk was killed with three gunshot wounds at 8:00 pm on June 21 in Moemauk. The man died on the spot.

The man was killed with three gunshot wounds. He was living with his sister to protect her. Their house is in the office compound. When they were preparing to go home after office hour, he was killed from close range. It was said that the people nearby heard 8 guns fire but found only 7 shells according to a man who was present at the place.

On June 8, a military vehicle was attacked with bombs in Mansi, Bamaw District where a student and a woman were wounded. A grade 7 student Aung Dee was killed when a heavy explosion hit the chicken farm in Moemauk on May 24. 

Since April 10, there were severe attacks with heavy weapons in Moemauk, and 8 monks including a Konelaw Sayadaw was killed. Moreover, fire broke out at Moe Hnyin Narkhar high school; Myothit Kalay village high school, Indawgyi (previously Lone Tone village) high school, and Moe Hnyin Township Inlay village middle school were burnt on fire on June 8, June 9, and June 17. Education departments, near school compound, principle house and hostel of teachers were attacked with bombs in Kachin State.
