The suspects involved in the killing of a young woman and the concealment of her body at the 32nd Beauty Land Hotel in Pabedan Township, Yangon Region, have been arrested, according to the Information Team of National Defense and Security Council released today.
On the morning of October 6, police officers were called to the 32nd Beauty Land Hotel, located on the 5th floor, Room 502, between two outdoor air conditioning units, where they discovered the body of a woman inside a plastic garbage bag. The victim, believed to be around 20 years old, had been murdered and found with her abdominal organs and parts of her left thigh removed. The case was registered at Pabedan Myoma Police Station (Case No. Pa/96/2025) under Penal Code Section 302 for murder, and further investigations were launched.
Investigators later identified the victim as Ma Su Myat Win, 23, from Nattalin Township in Bago Region. Police subsequently tracked down the perpetrators — 18-year-old Aung Khant Kyaw Zin of Thaketa Township and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Aye Myo Aung of Bahan Township. Both were arrested on the afternoon of October 7 at their respective homes. Items seized from Aung Khant Kyaw Zin’s residence included clothing worn during the crime, two steel knives, three mobile phones (one belonging to the victim), and other related evidence.
According to his confession, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin admitted to being obsessed with violent online games and foreign TV series involving murder and corpse disposal. On October 5, he contacted Ma Su Myat Win through a Telegram channel called LEADER, offering payment for companionship. While at the hotel, he brutally murdered her using two steel knives, imitating scenes he had watched in those shows. He then dismembered parts of her body and attempted to dispose of the remains.
Later, he called his girlfriend, Aye Myo Aung, to the hotel to help clean up the blood and hide the body. Authorities stated that both suspects — the killer, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin, and his accomplice, Aye Myo Aung — will face legal action under the law for their respective roles in the gruesome crime.
