Tourist arrivals from China, ROK and Singapore down due to COVID-19

Due to the spreading of coronavirus (COVID-19), Myanmar sees a significant decline in the number of tourist arrivals from China, South Korea and Singapore, according to the lists released by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population.

In late January, there were tourist arrivals of 408,182 in Myanmar, a seven-per-cent increase compared with the figure in January, 2019.

The recent years, the number of tourists from the European countries and North America has been declining due to the political situations in Myanmar while the number of tourists from China, South Korea, Japan and some Asian countries is increasing.
