COLOMBO (The Island/ANN) - TNA expresses willingness to help UNP form government in the upcoming election in the hopes of finding a political solution that goes beyond the devolution envisaged in the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

The TNA has expressed its willingness to help the UNP muster a working majority after the upcoming general election.

TNA spokesman parliamentarian M. A. Sumanthiran said that the TNA had decided to help the UNP form a government if it could not secure enough seats at the next general election for that purpose.

Addressing the media, on Sunday, after a special meeting at TNA office in Kayts, Sumanthiran said that the TNA would surely obtain more than 16 seats at the next general election and be in a position to help make the next government.

MP Sumanthiran said that the TNA would help the UNP with a view to finding a political solution that would go beyond the devolution envisaged in the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

He said that the TNA would never ignore the aspirations of the people in the North and the East and it would always do its level best to help those people win their rights.

The TNA currently consists of four parties: Eelam People’s Revolutionary Liberation Front, Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi, People’s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam and Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization.
