A shooting occurred in a Dhammayon (community hall for religious purposes) in Ward No.81, Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon, injuring three people including the ward administrator, according to local sources.
Two men arrived on a motorbike at the Dhammayon on Shweli (5) Street in Ward No.81, entered it and started shooting when the ward administrator and five other administrative officials were inside the building at about 9am on November 28.
“The two men entered the building saying they wanted to take a guest register and fired guns. The administrator was wounded. He is reportedly in serious condition. Two others were also wounded,” said a resident living nearby.
After the incident, the area was deployed by security forces until the afternoon.
