Three men threatened a schoolteacher with guns, shot her brother, took away a vehicle, a motorcycle and gold in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, according to local sources.

The case was that teacher Daw Yi Yi Hlaing, 59, was coming back to her home from Obo south ward, where her school is situated, by riding her won vehicle around 3:30 pm on July 4. When she parked her car in front of the house, three men arrived on a motorcycle and threatened her with guns. Later, they shot her younger brother U Kyaw Swa Hlaing and took her car, motorcycle, two gold chains, a gold ring and a gold bangle. Her brother who got a gunshot wound was sent to Monywa hospital for medical treatment.

Security forces are investigating to arrest those involved in the robbery and to take action in accordance with the law.
