Thai authorities have arrested 15 Myanmar nationals, including a child, who were found abandoned in the forest after illegally crossing the border, Thai news outlet Khaosod English reported.
On the morning of October 30, Thai authorities found 15 Myanmar nationals and five Chinese nationals hiding in the forest in Rim Si Muang sub-distrcit, Thailand.
They entered the country via a forest road and were picked up by a vehicle. When they arrived in Rim Si Muang sub-distrcit, Khao Kho District, they were asked to get out of the vehicle and told that another vehicle would come and pick them up. They waited for more than a day, but the vehicle did not come and they were arrested after villagers found them and notified the authorities, according to the report.
The arrested include some women and a child, and middle-aged men, according to a photo published by the news outlet.
The arrested 15 Myanmar nationals and five Chinese nationals were taken to the Lom Sak Provincial Court on charges of illegally entering Thailand and were handed over to the Immigration Police, the report said.
