Minister for Planning and Finance of the Shan State government, Soe Nyunt Lwin said that should the number of covid positive cases in Taunggyi Township rise, preparations have been made in advance to use the Sports and Physical Science school in Ayethayar as a makeshift hospital.
A team led by the minister of Planning and Finance of the Shan State government went to the Sports and Physical Science school in Ayethayar, Taunggyi township on 4th October to see preparations made to use the three-storey building as a 100-bedded Facility Quarantine Centre, or to use as a hospital should there be plenty of cuvid virus infected patients. Mattresses, blankets, and pillows have been provided. Drinking water facility was provided within a day.
Using Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Kits to check the more than 1000 motor vehicles and trucks, there were six patients who were covid positive, and were admitted in Kalaw General Hospital. Their health is good.
It is learnt that with effect from 5 Oct. all trucks coming to Shan State will not be checked for health, and they will be allowed entry only when they can show evidence of being NEGATIVE. Yhis has already been notified to all the departments concerned. Should there be any truck coming without any documentary evidence they will have to be in quarantine for 14 days
