Those suspected of killing a couple of retired university lecturers in Mingalar Taungyunt Township, Yangon Region, have been arrested, according to Yangon Region Police Force.

They were captured in Okpo Township, Bago Region, the other day, police sources said.

The suspects are found to have been drinking water deliverymen for the house of the couple. They are now being detained at Mingalar Taungnyunt Township Police Station, and filing in the process.  

An aged couple was found dead with stab wounds in an apartment in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township, Yangon Region on the night of October 30, according to the nearby residents.

The dead man was an 80-year-old literary award winner and retired university lecturer. His wife, aged over 70, was also a retired university lecturer.  

Both had been living as a married couple in that apartment for many years, said nearby residents. 

The incident occurred just near the crowded area which is always busy with shops.
