Strong wave caused a cargo vessel bend, twisted in the middle

A cargo vessel carrying 28 tons of cargo between Ohmma and Nyaung Hla Pin villages in Chindwin River, Yinmarbin District, Sagaing Region on October 18 was bent from the middle due to force exerted on the ship by strong waves, according to Ohmma village administrator Nan Oo.

Sailors aboard the vessel were not hurt due to the accident. There were 5 males and 1 female on the vessel.

“The ship was did not collapse but was bent from the middle due to strong waves and heavy cargo load It happened at 1:00 pm. The name of the vessel was Nan Taw Win vessel. It is now docked,” said Nan Oo, Ohmma village administrator.

On October 15, 2016, a vessel named Aung Soe Moe Kyaw-2 broke apart and sunk in Kani Township, an incident in which many lost their lives.
