State Counsellor receives French businesspersons eyeing investment in Myanmar

French business people interested in Myanmar called on State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi on February 5, the State Counsellor Office reported. 

The State Counsellor received the MEDEF International business delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw at 10 am. 

During the meeting both sides discussed investment situation and economic reform in Myanmar, investment opportunities for French companies and potential cooperation in economic, trade, agricultural, energy and infrastructural sectors. 

The meeting was also attended by Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry Soe Win, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Thaung Tun, Union Minister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tin and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations. 

The MEDEF International is a non-profit organization representing French business confederation. The visiting French business delegation comprised 28 members from French international companies eying investment in Myanmar, the State Counsellor Office reported.
