S.Korea’s Chonbuk University donates Lab equipment to Dagon University

YANGON-The Korean Chonbuk National University (CBUN) donated Practical Room, Microcomputer Based Laboratory and other lab equipment to the Botany Department of Dagon University.

The MoU between Chonbuk National University and Dagon University had been signed since 2013.

According to the MoU, Chonbuk National University constructed two international standard Smart Classrooms and a Microcomputer Based Laboratory and as well as the promise of more classrooms.

“Teachers can deliver lectures in the classroom with the help of ICT. Powerpoints slides and video clips can be more effective for helping students learn within a far shorter period,” said Professor Dr Myat Myat Moe, Dean of Botany and Microbiology Department.

With the aim to conduct botanical research, advanced equipment are being installed at the Microcomputer based Laboratory and Smart Classrooms that can accommodate up to 72 students.

“The CBUN aims for the students who can not only learn the advanced subjects but also carry out practical work. Moreover, we want to improve the education system. We are going to build international standard laboratory,” said official from Chonbuk National University.

As part of the tie-up, the CBNU has donated advanced laboratory apparatus, worth over US$ 80,000, for the first year of collaboration and international standard classrooms and microcomputers, worth nearly US$ 80,000 for the second year.

Moreover, the CBNU also donated the advanced apparatus worth of over US$ 450,000 with the aim to establish Modified Practical Room, Computer Room and E-library for the third year project.

They will also be giving out more equipment for the fourth year project.
