Shwenyawar Sayadaw, Ashin Pyinnya Thiha, passed away at 2:45 am on July 10, according to his followers.
Shwenyawar Sayadaw, who was 61 years old and had been in about 40-year of monkhood, passed away while receiving treatment at the Asia Royal Hospital in Yangon, according to his followers.
Shwenyawar Sayadaw’s body has now been transferred to the Shwenyawar Monastery in Ban Bway Kone Village, Hmawby Township.
The Sayadaw was arrested on February 1, 2021 and sentenced to two years in prison under Section 505 (b) of Penal Code. He was released in November 2022 and died of liver disease.
