Yangon — Seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 are reported, according to the statement by the Ministry of Health and Sports at 2 am on 12 April.
A 38-year-old man (Case-32) is from Hlegu Township in Yangon. On 23 March, he showed symptoms of fever and cough. On 28 March, he went to Hlegu People’s Hospital. He worked in China about three months ago.
A 29-year-old female (Case-33) with no travel history is from Shwepyitha Township in Yangon. On 7 April, she showed symptoms of fever, cough and runny nose. On 10 April, she went to Insein People’s Hospital.
A 20-year-old male (Case-34) with no travel history is from Insein Township in Yangon. On 8 April, he showed symptoms of fever and sore throat. On 10 April, he went to Insein People’s Hospital.
A 24-year-old male (Case-35) with no travel history is from Insein Township in Yangon. On 8 April, he showed symptoms of shortness of breath and sore throat. On 10 April, he went to Insein People’s Hospital.
A 33-year-old male (Case-36) with no travel history is from Insein Township in Yangon. On 8 April, he showed symptoms of fever, sore throat and runny nose. On 10 April, he went to Insein People’s Hospital.
A 44-year-old male (Case-37) with no travel history is from Insein Township in Yangon. On 8 April, he showed symptoms of cough and fever. On 10 April, he went to Insein People’s Hospital.
A 78-year-old female (Case-38) with no travel history is from Insein Township in Yangon. On 26 March, she showed symptoms of fever, cough and diarrhea. On 10 April, she went to Insein People’s Hospital. She has hypertension.
The case-34, 35, 36 and 37 attended the religious ceremony where the foreigners were present. The new confirmed patients are in good condition and will be transferred to Waibargi Specialist Hospital.
Currently, 32 confirmed patients at the respective hospitals are in stable condition and one patient is being treated at Intensive Care Unit of Waibargi Specialist Hospital.
According to the ministry’s statement on 11 April, three new COVID-19 cases were reported. The 26-year-old (Case-29) from Taunggyi of Shan State with a travel history to England, tested positive for COVID-19. The 30th patient is a doctor who had a close contact with the confirmed patient. The 31st patient from Teedim Township in Chin State is linked to the 1st patient.
