According to the Maung Daw Township's health department, there were seven Covid-19 patients found from between June 10 to 24.
Illegal Bengali immigrants were checked for Covid-19 and two were found to be Covid-19 positive on June 11 and 16.
Maungdaw's general administration department also had two Covid-19 patients on June 20, and after conducting follow up checks on people with close contact to known patients, one more Covid-19 positive case was found through the Standard Q Covid-19 Antigen Test kits.
The department says that as of now, 2 patients had been discharged as they were in good health with five still remaining at the dedicated ward for Covid-19 patient.
The public health department had also reportedly carried out prevention and control measures issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports such as reminding the public, through the local firefighting force, to wear masks, wash hands often, avoiding crowds, practicing physical distancing and so on.
