Seizures of drugs related to armed groups: Military information team

YANGON- There has been drug seizures cases found nearly weekly in Buthidaung and Maungdaw Townships, Rakhine State.

Those are related to armed groups, says Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tamadaw (Military) True News Information Team.

“We seized nearly 390,000 WY-branded tablets worth over Ks 790 millions in Maungdaw Township, on October 18th. There were two men that were carrying drugs from Buthidaung to Maungdaw Township by motorbike. We arrested them together with their bike. We seized drugs in Maungdaw and Buthidaung Townships nearly every week. We found that the seizures were related to the armed groups,” said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Office announced that the security force also arrested another female offender in connection with the drug related cases. Plans were underway to take actions against those drug offenders at the police station in Maungdaw Township.
