With the aim to prevent measures against deadly COVID-19 virus, Sagaing Region will be reopening COVID check points at the entrances and exits of Sagaing District from July 5th.

Moreover, the relevant truck drivers from other states and regions will be allowed to come to Sagaing Region after showing a health certificate for clearance of COVID-19 virus.

“The Sagaing Region COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee already announced that all shops must sell their foods to the take away system from the beginning of July 5th to 19th because the Sagaing Region is closely connected with the Stay-at-Home orders’ townships. Later, a COVID-19 testing center was opened on the 700-year-old football ground in Sagaing Region with tests for prisoners and container truck drivers and conductors,” said officials from the regional COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee.

The Sagaing Region government already issued an order to close for two weeks KTVs, clubs, restaurants, tea shops, etc as cases of Covid-19 climb.

Sagaing Region had seen rocketing amounts of Covid-19 cases with several deaths.
