SAC reshuffles the union cabinet on Feb 1

The ministries of the Union Government Office were changed to the ministries of Office of the Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC), announced the SAC.

The State Administration Council issued an order on February 1 that it prepared and constituted the Union Government under Article 419 of the Constitution in order to implement the five-point roadmap and 12 objectives set forth in the Constitution more quickly and effectively.

In the newly formed Union Government, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing is the Prime Minister, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, Union Minister for Defence General Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe as Deputy Prime Ministers.

In the Union Government, the Union Minister for Home Affairs Lieutenant General Yar Pyae, Union Minister for State Administration Council Chairman's Office (1) U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for State Administration Council Chairman's Office (2) U Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for State Administration Council Chairman's Office (3) U Aung Kyaw Hoe and Union Minister for State Administration Council Chairman's Office (4) General Moe Aung are included.

Also, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Legal Affairs Dr. Thida Oo, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe and Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, have been assigned.

In addition, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, have been assigned.

In the newly formed Union Government, the SAC assigned U Myo Thant as the Union Minister for Construction, Dr. Soe Win as the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Dr. Thet Thet Khine as the Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Jeng Phang Naw Taung as the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs and U Zaw Thin Than as Permanent Secretary of the Union Government Office.
