The State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman and the Minister for Economic Development of Russia met and discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and boost investment, sources said.
The SAC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and the Minister for Economic Development of Russia, H.E. Maxim RESHETNIKOV, met on the afternoon of February 22 at the Diplomatic Reception Hall of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed the good relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, and the opportunities for further enhancing joint cooperation in all fields and sectors in the economic field, the assistance provided by Russia to Myanmar in times of need, including natural disasters, the need to increase investments in Myanmar, the need to systematically research and calculate the long-term benefits, including the availability of skilled workers in project implementation and the fulfillment of basic needs, the need for electricity generating, fertilizer production, the conditions for Russian investment in the production of oil and chemical products, cooperation between the two countries, and the possibility of increasing private investment, and the conditions for further enhancing cooperation between Myanmar and Russia in various economic fields.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary of the Council, General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and officials, and the officials from Russia.
