Robbery occurs in broad daylight in Mandalay, house owner stabbed

A robbery broke out at a house in the city of Mandalay on July 24 afternoon with a home owner stabbed and one of the robbers arrested, said local sources.

Four unidentified men armed with four knives arrived on two motorbikes at a house on 40th Street between 63rd and 64th Streets in Mahamyaing Ward (2), Mahaaungmyay Township, Mandalay, at about 2 pm on July 24. They entered the house and attempted to rob the female owner of the house. As his wife shouted for help, the robbers stabbed the man in his stomach and ran away. No cash or other property was taken away. In the incident, one robber was arrested together with one motorcycle, according to an initial police record.   

Security forces went to the scene, and investigation is going on.

The man with stab wounds is receiving treatment at Mandalay General Hospital.
